Martin Luther King III is the President and CEO of the King Center, and President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the organization that his father cofounded in 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin III's dedication to creating and implementing strategic nonviolent action to rid the world of social, political and economic injustice has propelled him to the forefront as one of America’s most ardent advocates for the poor, the oppressed and the disillusioned.

Martin Luther King, III to Speak on Opening Day.  Martin Luther King, III has confirmed his visit to Calgary to give the keynote opening address to members of the public and delegates to  IPRA2006.  Mr. King will address the conference theme "Patterns of Conflict, Paths to Peace" from his unique experience as a young man growing up in racially-divided America. Having taken on the reigns of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference  (SCLC) from his father, Martin's life story has not been as easy one. He will share his concerns and passions with us.
